St. Patrick’s Crafts for Elementary Students
One of my favorite Spring holidays to celebrate in the classroom is St. Patrick’s Day. I don’t know what it is about the magic of spring and leprechauns but I love it! When it comes to St. Patricks Day Crafts my students and I have 2 different favorites. My students favorite is this build your own leprechaun craft. They love getting to look at all of the leprechaun outfits and accessories included and design their own little friend. Afterwards, I have to give them time to play with their leprechauns and it’s precious. One year, we used our leprechauns to help us build leprechaun traps which they LOVED.
My personal favorite St. Patrick’s Day craft is this classic four leaf clover. I love seeing their creativity with the different supplies I give to fill in their clover. Some years we do tear and glue, others I do paint/dabbers. Last year, I had centers around the room where students could choose how they wanted to finish their clover. This one is my favorite because it makes a precious hallway bulletin board display which I am a sucker for. You could even combine the clovers & the leprechauns to create a bulletin board display.
Welcome Spring!
The rest of the crafts included in this pack are perfect for welcoming Spring. I don’t know about you but where I live when March comes around all I can think about is Spring. I also love the changes of seasons because I love to decorate my classroom, switch out my display book shelf and create a fresh bulletin board.
Check out this precious lion and lamb craft. I usually do this one on the first day of Spring. We read a Spring read aloud and talk about what “in like a lion, out like a lamb” means then complete the craft. I usually do this craft on paper plates and include cotton balls for the lambs wool. I teach students how to make a lions mane out of craft paper too. You can even glue the lion and lamb front and back or add a handle for a puppet. If you don’t have the time (or energy) for all of that, no problem, the kit comes with all the printable pieces you would need!
