New Years Craft for Elementary Students

One that I love to start with is this New Years Craft. We read a book together about New Years, talk about and make New Years resolutions, and then complete this craft. I love this craft because you can make it as creative as you want by just adding stickers, sequences, pom-poms, yarn, etc. If you teach primary grades you can even turn these into crowns!

The January Craft Kit comes with a few snow themed crafts that are perfect for the days after break, sprinkling throughout the month or with a snow unit! These activities are flexible depending on your standards, curriculum and grade level! I love this snowflake craft and usually display these on our hallway bulletin board for a fun winter display.

MLK Day Crafts for Elementary Students

A big happening in January is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and you can find a lot of great resources written by black authors on TPT! I have 2 awesome units from TPT that I use every year to talk about and teach MLK Day. However, I throw in this craft either for a hallway display or to include in their first grade memory books. I include one craft with writing prompt per month into their first grade memory books. At the end of the year students love to see how far their cutting, coloring, etc has come!
