I always welcome March with open arms, where I live it means the sunshine will be out, temperatures will be warming up and outdoor recess will resume! I love celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the classroom and learning about spring. These 1st grade math center activities reflect that! They are a great way to get your students reviewing key skills while having fun. They cover 10 different first grade standards and come with all the pieces you need.

April Math Center Ideas

In my school district, April is our last full month of the school year. April is a time that we are wrapping up all of our units, finishing out standards and getting ready for the end of the year fun. I love using these math centers to keep students reviewing skills that we have learned all year. They are a great way to keep skills fresh in their mind for end of the year testing. All 10 standards that are included are things that my students are already familiar with which makes these centers easy to manage.

May 1st Grade Math Center Activities

Like I said above, April is our last full month which means May is a madhouse. In May we are testing all the things, closing out the school year and celebrating our learning and time together. In May, regardless of what is going on I keep our schedule as normal as possible for as long as possible. I am the teacher who is running a full schedule with lessons until about the last 3 days of school. This helps me keep my sanity and helps students who struggle with change. With that being said, I swap things out to be more of a review or fun activity rather than continuing teaching new content. These 1st grade math center activities are the perfect way to close out the school year. They are hands on, interactive, and a great review for students.

If you are looking for a full year of themed math centers, you want to check out this bundle! This bundle included 120 standards based centers, is low prep and saves you money!
